"Endowments"

Things I Ask for from God:

  1. The power to be present completely…no matter when or where.
  2. The power to “see” clearly, in every person encountered, that person as he or she "is" and to see that person's immediate as well as ultimate need.
  3. The power to embrace truth and reality as they are.
  4. The power to understand completely that which another person is trying to communicate.
  5. The power to be an open and genuine conduit of Life, meaning the loving-kindness, joy, compassion, and equanimity of Jesus, the Source of All Life.
  6. The power to remember, with complete and total recall, every face, name, and story that goes with that face and name.
  7. The power to live from a place of ultimate vulnerability.

“‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’”  (Acts 1:7)

“Now to Him Who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.  Amen.”  (Ephesians 3:20-21)

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind, discipline, and self-control.”  (2 Timothy 1:7)
