The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still and quiet waters; He restoreth my soul. For in the day of trouble, He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I thank You for the time that You and I got to spend together, today. As the conclusion of our day is fast approaching, I want to thank You, too, for the peace You bring to my life. In this moment, Lord, I ask that You stay with me throughout the watches of this night, that You protect me from the attacks and assaults of my enemies, and that You grant me restful sleep and illuminating dreams. As I sleep, may Your Song be with me, and, when I awake in the morning, may it be to Your loving Arms. Should I pass before the morning, may I be ushered quickly into Your eternal rest.
