The Preciousness of Life

Hello, my friends,

Even though I was planning to write some about baptism, tonight, I’m going to hold off on writing of such things for a couple of days.

This morning, a very dear friend of mine suffered what the doctors are calling “a major heart attack.”  Most fortunately, this friend—who is the husband of another dear and life-long friend and the father of three "lovely (Yeah...that's for you, my sister!)" children that I love dearly—is still with us.  I will not use my friend’s name, so as to respect his and his family’s privacy, but, for those of you who know me well, you know of whom I am writing.

What I would like to do in this moment is to ask that you pray with me the following prayer:

Father, you are our Creator and our Healer…

I ask in this moment that you touch Dave’s friend with the healing power of your Spirit.  Father, you have given this man many chances in life to make some physical changes that might enable him to live a much longer time here on earth.  Lord, it would seem that those chances have dwindled to close to nothing.  As such, and in this moment, Lord, I am asking that you break it upon this man’s soul the desire and the ability to make the changes you desire him to make.  And may he take it upon himself, through the power of your spirit, to begin to implement such changes NOW—even as he’s laying in a hospital bed.

Father, I ask that you be a comfort to this man’s wife and to his three beautiful children...three children, Father, who are hurting right now and who miss their daddy while he’s in the hospital.  Whatever happens, Father, please guard their little hearts and take good care of them.  Heal them where they need to be healed that they might grow up to be the world changers you desired them to be long before they were born…long before their parents were born.  Please, Lord, take good care of them, and may they enjoy the life You’ve given them and the fellowship of Your Presence all the days of their lives.

I ask all of this, God, in the precious Name of your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who lived, died, and rose again that we might all have life and have it to the full.

Amen!

God bless all of you, this evening.  Life is so precious, my friends.  Don't throw it away, okay?  Tell those you love how much you love them—say what you need to say, and do those things that make you come alive.

Loving all'y'all in Him,

Bling

For God is at work with you both to will and to do His good pleasure.—Philippians 2:13
